Who is Robb?

Robb Firch, President and Owner of Meridian Nursery Inc., graduated in 1994 from Iowa State University with a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture. He was a Delta Tau Delta fraternity scholarship recipient three years in a row and was a member of the Executive Committee. He was also a pledge educator, and the Iowa State mascot for two years. Throughout his education, he learned many new and avant garden ideas, which can help you with current projects.

From 1987-1989, Firch was a sales associate at Allen Nursery. There he sketched designs for customers, ordered supplies and assisted customers with selections of trees and shrubs. Starting in May of 1989, he was a foreman for Maney's Professional Landscape and assisted with designing, estimating costs and making plant suggestions. During that time, he also was the owner and manager of College Landscape Architect from May 1991-1994. He handled all facets of the landscape architectural trade, coordinated design, quality control, purchasing, and planting. There he worked closely with prospective clients, relative to completing design.

In the past, Robb was the director and producer of 'In the Garden with Robb'. Firch wrote scripts for informative and entertaining garden segments, which can be seen throughout the website.

Firch founded Meridian Nursery Inc. in May of 1994 and is still the Owner and CEO. He was voted Rookie of the Year in 1995 and Nursery Man of the Year in 2001. Robb enjoys speaking at many corporate and community events. He manages the 25 acre Corporate Office garden center located in Rockford and he runs a full service landscaping operation. Business has grown from zero sales in 1995 to almost 1 million dollars annually.
